The 工作人员 of 汤姆林森图书馆 are dedicated to campus-wide safety. Below you will find information on how to evacuate the library in case of an emergency or power outage as well as other safety resources available to students, 工作人员, 以及校园里的教职工. If you have a safety concern while at the library, please contact the Checkout & Reserves Desk by visiting the 1st floor, calling 970.248.1244, or using the online "Chat with a Librarian" feature located on each page of the library's website.
The library has evacuation plans posted on each floor by the main staircase and elevators as well as by each emergency exit. These plans (provided below) show the locations of all exits, life safety systems (such as fire extinguishers), 以及疏散路线. During fire evacuations, a smoke curtain in the main stairwell will deploy. Students should then use the east and west emergency exit staircases. An announcement will be made with instructions on how to safely exit the building. If necessary, and possible, the library 工作人员 may sweep the building asking library users to leave.

学生可联络 the CMU 安全行走计划 at 970.260.2683 to have a trained 校园安全 Assistant (CSA) walk them safely anywhere on the main campus and up to two blocks off-campus. The service is offered daily from 5pm-2am.
